#HTCOne

I believe by now most of the gadgets enthusiasts have seen the HTC ONE Launch Event, if you lived under a rock here it is the video from the event:

As you may know, I had my  fair share of disappointments with HTC, and I’m still skeptic about their last year flagship update policy. Word is the ONE X and ONE X+ will get the Sense 5 update, and if this is true I believe HTC changed their update policy which is only GOOD. This way if I buy the HTC ONE it won’t be obsolete in half a year (like it happened with Sensation)

Specs and marketing aside, the HTC ONE looks amazing, I think is the best built, best looking HTC so far. Performance wise is an improvement over the X+, not by much but it is. Again word is that the Snapdragon S600 is more friendly with battery than Tegra’s  AP37 ( the chipset from X+), that in combination with a 2300 mAH battery (vs. 2100 from X+) should give a decent run on a charge.

I won’t go into the Ultrapixel stuff, stereo speakers, because i couldn’t care less about taking DSLR grade pictures (for those who still hope, IT AIN’T possible) with my phone nor about throwing a party with my phone’s speakers :) .

Software wise, oh well I’m pretty sure in time we will be able to port Sense 5 to X / X+ if HTC feels is nice NOT to update.

All things aside, I would GET the HTC ONE. Why? Because it looks awesome, and the performance bump and supposedly better battery life makes the upgrade worthwhile.

What about you? You droll over the HTC One? or you wait to see what competition has to offer before making up your mind. Drop a line or two  in a comment below

I am hoping that s-off will be available for this phone as it is not using the Tegra cpu.
That is the only thing I hate about my One X – I cant get S-off.
Do you have any thoughts on that?

    Well,

I decided to wait for mid march to see what’s Samsung going to bring us. Last year they did a better job and if it turns out that 2013. will be the same, I am going to make that huge step in different direction and switch to Samsung. For the last 2 months I’ve been using Note 2 and I have kept my One X. The different is huge! Samsung did an amazing job, the phone is more responsive, not to mention the LED display. Battery is WOOOOW and all those tiny options and versatility make a huge difference to me. I miss some parts of Sense, however, if different manufacturer is going to give me faster updates, better price/performance ratio, I will sure make that switch. HTC One is gorgeous, all that aluminium, the screen, loudspeakers and stuff, but I just want to wait for the competition…

    Hi there!

It’s nice that HTC actually comes up with something new, bringing the technology forward. But I strongly dislike the way the One looks. Nope, that greyish thing will get another owner. But I bet it’s fast and adorable.
Will still stick with my Sensation XE though. Thanks for some awesome roms!
